To Sensei

To Sensei: Happy Birthday part II

Photobucket

Never one to just agree
Countless times we’ve sparred
Not the one for flattery
Else the truth be marred
This is why I gained respect
I grew up acting hard
She could never be in check
She held all the cards!
This was all before Black Crow
I know now were both stars
Equal casting in this show
Friendship meant to help us grow

Before that truth I still had love
A sister I had found
Selfless as the light above
I saw her golden crown
Your my sensei I decreed!
So I could be the clown
She still knows that I can lead
I’ve seen her start to frown
When I act without my heart
I know I let her down
Always real from the very start
Connected with me like the Bay to the BART

Happy Birthday Syd!

Photobucket

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a lot of fun today. Are you going to be in Sabastipol? Either way Ill call the house some time tonight and maybe Ill catch you. I think right now your at Tilden. You deserve to get everything you want this year. Dance your dreams into reality, or in your case, stick fight your dreams into reality. It doesnt matter how you visualize the process, just dream big and believe in those dreams, its a good way to have ideas manifest into reality. Now all thats left is a question. What do you really want Syd? I know that youl receive. Seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door openeth. (Gospel of John) Isnt so amazing to be alive? Happy Birthday!

More pyramid stuff

I called Caravan tours. They were really friendly and very helpful. So heres the rundown:

The tours are available up to a year before the date you are seeking to reserve. Since I was planning this trip for June 09 that means we can reserve our slots as early as this June. When I asked what time I should make sure to reserve my slot by the man said that any time before this upcoming Winter should be fine, but after that slots start getting filled fast. To be on the safe side Id prefer to reserve ours around October 08. He said that once a date is chosen Caravan Tours will hold your slot for one week without any deposit so that we can make flight arrangements. If for some reason we all cant get flights than wed cancel, most likely though if we reserve slots in October 08 for June of 09 we will all be able to find available flights to and from Mexico City considering that there are hundreds of different planes that go there from Cali.

As for air arrangements I guess thats up to the individual as were all leaving from different cities (well a few of us are). The main airport that Caravan picks up from is the MEX for Mexico City (like LAX for LA) I forgot to ask the airport from Cancun but Im imaging that there is only one chief one and I also have more information coming to me in the mail because I requested some when I called earlier.

In addition, when I asked the guy about the bus schedule and the tour guides and not getting lost he just laughed and said he had never heard of anyone ever getting left behind. It seems that the tour people that go with the group are very good about keeping track of everyone. His laughter was reassuring, it was like he had never got that question before.

So it seems that anyone who wants to go should start saving for October. Im still open for different dates, and a different tour, but for now this is what I got going on. Im still going to go to AAA this weekend to ask about other tours they may know of and if I have time Im going to purchase my passport. For sure I will have a passport before the end of the month. Its real people! I hope that this information is helpful and it seems to me we all have ample time to prepare so that we can make sure we do this the right way. Initially we will need a 300 deposit per person and the airfare. than we just have to come up with an additional 700 to pay off the tour and were freaking in Mexico traveling back through time with Mayans! I hope the fact that we dont need all the money by October may help. I really just hope that we can all make it work. Whatever happens happens, I know that everyone will give it serious consideration and thats all I can ask for. Ill post another update as soon as I have more info. Peace!

Illicit Meeting Sparks Controversy. Marmots Involved.

It's clear now that we've passed through the looking glass. This past weekend the paparazzi have finally gotten hard evidence against Ta-Da! Magazine. Seen here in this un-doctored photograph is Mr. Watanabe himself meeting with the Great Paladini in Yosemite National Park. The Great Paladini has come up in our investigation before, but was of unknown importance until now. As proven by a recent scientific poll on a reputable website, The Great Paladini is a contributing writer for Ta-da! Magazine. As a writer and also a soulless puppet of the Marmots he has slowly been spreading pro-Marmot propaganda. It's believed now that the local blogger Cyrusse's recent post on Wombats was really part of the pro-marmot agenda aimed at acclimating people to things that are "cute" and "furry" before the marmots make their move to overthrow humans as the dominant species of earth. With this and other information we can stop the marmot threat and takedown their spearhead Mr. Watanabe. Trust no one.

TF2 Gold Rush Update

New TF2 update is finally out. We now have the new gold rush map, an item system, and about a bazzillion new achievements for medic. Apparently there's free tf2 play from the 2nd until the 4th of May, so we'll have to see if we can get Cyrusse to join us. =)
More info at the Gold Rush Update site.
Lets get updating!

Ditch Day

So I'm taking over my quasi-surprise birthday meal and agreeing with Lisa that it should be a picnic lunch in Tilden and swimming in the duck crap lake or playing frisbee in one of the fields. Not quite barbeque and a stripper, but what can you do? All Cuppers in the Bay are invited (well, all Cuppers are invited, but not expected to come up from LA for a picnic). I figure 1pm to around 4:30 or 5pm would be a good time range. My parents are taking me out to dinner, so I need to go home and un-duck poo myself by 5. I request Fred's Market sandwiches as picnic material.

My pics are up on MySpace

Just a little FYI, I've got my pics up on myspace and facebook. If you want any in a larger size, just ask, I can just zip them all to you.

That was an amazing trip guys. Thanks to Syd for all the hard work. Thanks to Dan for driving my ass. Thanks to everyone for being there. Funny how it was arranged so long ago and yet the timing couldn't have been better. Somehow Dan thwarted any attempt at procuring images from him...well, he had a point, it'll take a damn long time to get his images on the comp. Hopefully we'll have something soon. I think he knows he has the best shots out of all of us. There is always the marmot option. But there's no turning back from that.

It's roughly 214MB, yay!

Mission Accomplished!

Yo! That was one of the most fun times that I have ever had in Yosemite. Thank you all so much for coming out and sharing the experience with me. Without anyone of you all it would not have been the same! I cant stress that enough. It was so amazing to finally see Yosemite falls up close. I would definitely be willing to do it again, though I think Id be eager to try something new, that path will now always be a favorite of mine. The ice at the top, the view of Half Dome, the Indian face at top and the wire switchback maze were all something new for me and I loved every moment.

Special thanks are in order for Syd. You rock! You cook, you clean, you get site, we bow to you Sensei! Not to mention the fact that hauled up double water. Slick, you always think of everything.

To the rest of the fellas that Mario Kart was very cool, and the late night fire talks about everything inappropriate and than some. I think I needed some absolute ridiculousness after my week of math madness.

I can not wait to do it all again next year! Hope to see you all there. But for now back to the grind. My paycheck came up short, some random insurance company wants to talk to me about an accident that to my knowledge never occurred, and I have work and school to contend with. None of this phases me in the least because I find something else out with my return to L.A.

I am officially enrolled at CSUN! About damn time that I get my old ass into a 4 year university. Now I can finally just get my degree, teaching credential, and everything else needed so that I can fulfill the role set before me by God. It feels great to be on track! Yall have a great night tonight. I hope everyone got home safe. Peace!

p.s. can I pretty please get those wonderful pictures that you all took. Id appreciate it very much so that I can share them with my father. More than anything the images are forever burned into my consciousness where they can be retained at will as needed. Just cant share that information with others, at least not yet.........for now pictures would be cool.
