For the now

I was sentenced to death by my friends
I was crucified by those who needed a scapegoat
I kissed the devil on many moonlit nights
And Im still here

Nearly lost my life on the freeway twice
Both of my lungs have been collapsed “spontaneously”
Surgery three times, three times angels watched over me
And Im still here

You threw me in darkness to find my way out
I struggled so hard to return to my home
I got lost in this ego called Steve though
And Im still here
For now………

I hear a gentle bird chirping “just wait”
The Lord will return you to your home in due time
But for now reside with pride and live with your head held high
For the glory of the Lord is mysterious and fathomless
That’s why your still here
FOR the NOW!……….

Defmoose Anime Pick: Soul Eater

So here is a screenie of the new show I've been watching. Has a very cool visual design, with the sun and the moon having freaky faces and so far has kept me pretty engaged for the first 10 episodes. Basically Death has set up a school to train people to become weapon and weapon master pairs to ensure that the Demon God is not reborn. Simple no? After an ep or two its mostly clear whats going on. Good mix of comedy and action so check check check it out. Watch the 1:30 minute intro below and tell me you aren't at least a little interested. Torrents can be found at the Tadashi fansub site. (SD is lower quality, 720p is what i've been dl'ing)

ohhh white ninja

I had to share this one with everyone. Made me laugh:

White Ninja's Cat Needs Help:

In retrospect, this should have been a ratpod post. Well, tough kibbles (brownie points to anyone who can guess the comic that inspired me to write "tough kibbles")

What do you get with brownie points? Not sure, for some time I've been thinking of implementing some form of prize system. Maybe a gift certificate? A body slam? A kick to the stomach? A brownie?

Who knows?

Anime Night Fall 2008 First Showing

Tonight's showing is the movie Beyond the Clouds and will be at 159 Mulford at UCB. Can't quite tell exactly what it's about but it seems an alternate post-ww2 reality with weird stuff going on in Japan. It's gotten decent reviews on AnimeNfo.com: 8.2/10.0 (58 reviews) so we'll be there with bells on. The Director, Makoto Shinkai, has been called the "New Miyazaki", though he says that is an overstatement, we shall see. [via Cal Animage Alpha]

p.s. Sorry yous guys who can't make it, I couldn't find a seeded torrent for it. =(
