Death in Los Angeles

Apathy sinks into the well of your heart
from Skid Row, or Santa Monica,
or CSUN.

It appeals to you, begging
for alcohol, a lover's touch,
anything to fill the void.

Your hand becomes a whore,
or a saint, innocent and devout, blind and bound,
a prisoner to your routine.

That is when death finds you.
It always asks, Are you happy?
Are you empty? Are you ready?

So I embrace the darkness
I kill myself gradually like HIV inside of a fresh host.
Flies all around me
I live with death

Signs of a Recession in Mushroom Kingdom

I love Extra Life. It's a webcomic / blog / podcast site. They also host The Instance, a WoW podcast which also won the 2008 Blogger's Choice Awards for Best Podcast. I still listen to WoW / game related podcasts. I really don't know why, I'm perfectly happy knowing I won't experience most of what discussed...well, I know, because the personalities are hilarious. Scott Johnson, the artist and main guy behind the site just has a down to earth personality. His comics make me laugh and the other guys he brings on are exteremly entertaining, they also have their own webcomics. I guess their conversations remind me of ours, you know, when the whole community is together and chaining one inside joke after another...sigh...

Thought Lorriga might appreciate this. Found it over on TOR's blog (they publish Brust's Vlad series among a bazillion other things) and thought it was pretty random. We've been needing new posts anyways =)
