Today I got my first taste of what it will be like when Vicki leaves. I started the day by going to the gym, did some work, did some graduate school application stuff, then had an awesome good time playing Hellgate with Ron.
At first I was a little worried, I found myself sitting in the apartment, not sure what to do with myself. I used to get like that a lot. One of the convenient things about living with Vicki has been just how jam packed my days were.
I feel accomplished. I proved to myself that things will be different, Lorenzo has changed.
We are all changing.
Steve amazes me every day as he reminds himself of his innate sense of the Universe.
Ron has slowly started working and I feel hes tasted just how sweet fun time is after a week of madness.
Syd's been expanding her own horizons, kudos on the new friend and heres to looking busy at work!
Dan, you seem to be more engaged...albeit with projects, friends, and some school =).
Over the last two years of living with Vicki I've learned a lot. A lot about living with a woman. About what it means to be almost like a husband, to go to work and have to go very far out of my way or comfort zone to please someone I love. I've found out that I have a very deep nurturing side, a side that relishes with delight at the prospect of hanging out with friends and family.
It's all in my chart...I have to control the Sagittarian in me. Saggitarius is ruled by Jupiter. The planet of expansion in the most general sense. Jupiter has been in Sag for some time now, but is leaving come the end of December. For Ron, Steve, and myself this year has been a year of laying the foundation for our futures. We have told the world our desires, who we want to be, how we want to expand in society, in our relationships, in our understanding of the universe. We can do this at any time, but with Jupiter in Sag, the universe listens just a little more. Now it's time to watch the seed grow into beautiful plants and admire the vivid fruit.
I can feel it.
All of you guys, I send you my deepest love. I only hope now that I've learned so much more about how to love that I can send it to you all more effectively.
Much Love

Elevators: Cyrussebane
Does anyone else have issues with elevators in WoW, or is it just me? I swear the Undercity elevators have killed me about 10 times now. I've died a couple times overshooting the ones in Shattrath too, but that's just me not being able to steer. The Undercity ones hate me.
I just went there to see if they had fixed it and fell through the elevator and lived a couple times. Then I thought I'd get a picture and post something to the effect of "look, the elevators are safe now." So guess what happened? Yeah, that's right. It killed me. Stupid elevator.
That thing sticking out of the wall would be my corpse. And there's the elevator, looking all innocent and pretending it didn't just drop me out of the game and then slam me into the floor. Rude.

State of the Cup
Well...I don't really know how this will all pan out. Day one was very fun, and if anything I'll cherish your posts. But I have a feeling we'll squeeze more time out of this blog...
I like the "In the Cup" title...i'll see what I can do about changing the URL to reflect the name.
I had a good laugh reading your posts this morning, so keep it up =)

In the Cup
The new suggestion for blog name is….
“In the Cup”
We can pretend it’s slang for being crazy or something.
But we know the truth.
It means you went in a cup of shit.
A 3-foot cup of shit.
After being shrunk by a ray-gun.
A half full cup of shit. (Or half empty.)
That's in the corner of Steve's room.
So it can be looked at. Or eaten. Your choice.
You can do whatever you want with it.
Seriously, don’t ask…
It’s been a long day.

What I learned today, part II : You too can fondle tortoises!
The other tidbit of information I found was an article about the recovery of Galapagos tortoises. Many of the species almost went extinct because sailors were eating them (Ron says "they weren't doin' it enough; he's an expert in the field"...) and then people introduced goats that ate all their food, and rats that ate their babies. Anyway, most of them are doing a lot better now.
The Pinta island species only has one known survivor named Lonesome George (although they think they may have found some hybrids), who they have apparently been trying to breed with similar tortoises, but he doesn't want to hump anything... The highlight (if that's the right term) of the article is this:
In 1994, Cayot learned a sperm-retrieval technique from a German zoo veterinarian and taught a Swiss volunteer how to fondle a rather ticklish George. "She could get the other tortoises to ejaculate in 15 minutes," Cayot recalls. "We worked with George for months and got nothing." http://sciencenews.org/articles/20071110/bob9.asp
And you thought your job was bad...
If you guys dig it...
We can totally change stuff here!
Like the title, Cyrusse mentioned she liked "blackmoosecyrussebob," we can change it whenever!
I think I can make ppl admins too, I'll assume everyone would like to be one unless the say otherwise.
We can also mess with the template, etc...
I just wanted to get something started and see what the reception would be like.
What I learned today
So when I'm supposed to be working and I don't want to, I sometimes ready random science magazine websites so it sort of looks like I might be doing research. Sometimes I learn interesting things from this. Such as... don't drink too much beer and fall down or you will pop your bladder. And that's bad. This has been your public service announcement for the day.

Um, enjoy!

Oil Spill
Apparently an Oil tanker hit a column on the Bay Bridge causing a "medium sized" oil spill. One article mentioned that the wind is moving around oil globules and contaminating various areas of the bay.
It seems the Marina has been affected:
MEDIA RELEASE: Oil spill Affects Berkeley Marina
Calif. declares emergency over Bay Area oil spill
Oil Spill closes San Francisco beaches
-form MSNBC
Oil Spill Fouls Shores in San Francisco Area
-the New York Times
I heard about this yesterday on the News, but I didn't realize how big this was. Mayor Newsom and Sen. Barbra Boxer mentioned a lack of information as the key cause for the delayed reaction.
I'm kinda worried about the ducks I was feeding at Aquatic park last weekend.

Animal Crossing MMO?
You guys heard about this?
I never played Animal Crossing...do you guys think an animal crossing MMO would work? I've always been interested...
I never played Animal Crossing...do you guys think an animal crossing MMO would work? I've always been interested...
I see how its going to be...
So really how is it I keep getting dragged into things that suck up my time and don't pay me, or do my work for me? On a side note the 360 is up and running at full speed with 2 coasters to start and then 2 successful backups in a row.
So... now I gotta check a another blog so I can see all the stuff I missed in the blogs I try to keep an eye on? Somehow this sounds more complicated. However I have faith in humanity and more importantly you people.
So in the spirit of wasting time I give you...
The TechShop
A place where you can go and pretty much make or break anything. Laser cutters, lathes, 3D printers (quick fabrication machines), carbon fiber.... well pretty much anything ya want. Sorry no giant graphic tablets but you can bring your own stuff in. Memberships a bit steep unless you commit for a month. $30 a day or $100 for the whole month. They're really nice people who just have way to much time on their hands and got a bunch of cool stuff from some crazy rich people.

Alkaline Crow launches
Steve, Ron, Syd, and Dan. I initially wanted "blackmoose," but that was taken...
So I figured, alkaline crow...for a moment it was almost "blackalkalinecyrussbob," but that was a little too long.
Essentially, I've been reading a lot of random crap on the internet. I know you guys do to. There's also a lot of times I want to email news out to all you guys. So I figured we could blog for each other.
I don't really have a plan or too many ideas. All I know is that there's a lot of cool random stuff I read on the net and I know you guys do to. Perhaps we can get some of the most pertinent to our little circle of friends and filter out content for peeps that just don't care to check WOWInsider, Kotaku, Gizmodo, lifehacker, Destructoid, Digg, 1up, "Rock, Paper, Shotgun", Massively, or listen to 1up podcasts....yes, those are the blogs I check on a daily basis....(actually I don't check gizmodo or lifehacker too much...but I know Ron does)
I would pretty much like us all to have accounts and post blogs on the same site...You guys may not, but I've taken the liberty of sending invites for you all to become authors =)
Much Love to you all,
Lorenzo
