The bill is a response to a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that said a person must file a claim of discrimination within 180 days of a company's initial decision to pay a worker less than it pays another worker doing the same job. Under the bill, every new discriminatory paycheck would extend the statute of limitations for another 180 days.So far so good. In other news the House passed the economic stimulus package 244-188 with absolutely no republicans supporting it and 11 democrats voting against it. You'd think that maybe they might see which way the wind is blowing from the last couple elections and maybe be a little more open to supporting healthcare and education, things they currently want removed from the package. Obama has invited key members of the House and Senate from both sides of the aisle over for drinks to try persuade them to support the package.
If anyone is concerned that their ISP might be throttling their bandwidth, check out this post on lifehacker to run tests to find out.
Blackelk has still not returned to the land of the living and if he's still not back by tomorrow Blizzard should be contacted and harrased. In his absence I've become addicted to Warhammer Online and playing it far too much every day. It doesn't have the polish of WoW, but it does have a shitload of things that I think WoW would be wise to abscond with. As the list could end up a post all its own, I won't get into it all at the moment, but I will say that unless something else spectacular comes along in the meantime, when I'm done with WoW I'm switching to WAR.
There's a free beta out right now on Steam for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II multiplayer which seems to be their version of Starcraft. I've only briefly played it once and got whomped on, but in honor of Sean Marney whose fighting bandwidth caps abroad, anyone who can get it should so we can try it out together. Hope all is well and I should be talking with most of you later today!

What did you mean when you said:
"a shitload of things that I think WoW would be wise to abscond with"? Do you mean things WoW should adopt? Or do you mean things that WoW should get rid of which are also in WAR? I'm confused.
My buddy mark likes warhammer: dawn of war and built his computer for this sequel. Interestingly enough, the game director for Diablo III, Jay Wilson, worked on Dawn of War I.
I wonder if the stimulus package will do enough. I also recall hearing that in developing the package, pelosi wanted to add more funding for planned parenthood and Obama had that taken out to promote a bipartisan vote for the package...but ultimately the vote did fall along party lines...so sad...
well, back to work!
Well apparently abscond doesnt mean exactly what I though it meant. The closest definition I could find was "to hide away, to store up, conceal". I had thought it to be something akin to stealing away. So what I meant was that WoW should copy a lot of the the things WAR has going on.
I played the Dawn of War 2 beta a little bit with Dan. He quit after I whupped him several times. Then he cried softly to himself in the corner. Hehe.
No one asked where the Sean comment came from! I'm surprised.
At this point the republishits have made it pretty clear they don't give a flying rats ass about bipartisanship, so Obama needs to pretty much forget about trying to please them at all. Unless of course some of them vote differently than their counterparts in the house. We'll prolly see this week.
