What you see above illustrates my own little character creation process. It's kind of funny, you can see my idea of "The Marmot King" slowly taking shape. I used some ideas from Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows for this one, I like it though. My first draft is more life-like and slowly I add the cartoonish elements.
Anyways, I hope to draw some sketches for "The Great Paladini," and "Mr.Watanabe." They will cooperate with "The Marmot King" for the sole purpose of world domination. I really wanted to get "The Marmot King" down. I'm sure you can all guess, my favorite is the drawing on the right. After I drew it, I had a thought...maybe I'll put the guy in a dress shirt and tie. Could be fun.

Very cool. A little more beaverish than marmoty, but he's the king, so he can be half beaver if he wants.
I like the bottom right one too. It looks like he's either doing a dance or sliding in to stab someone.
I think part of the beaver look comes from the tail and feet.
By all means, as the resident furry authority what would you recommend to make him look more marmot than beaver?
Any input would be appreciated as I hope to draw this guy a lot more anyways...might as well get it right.

freaking quality man I'm curious to know if the marmot king will be joined by a humanoid or beast version of the great paladini and mr. watanabe?

For myself, I may try a panda for beast form. Goes better with the whole Mr.Watanabe thing don't you think?

Mr.Watanabe Panda needs the green and white striped shirt and a sombrero. Hmm... walrus-dog with a cloak for the Great Paladini.
And that's my dilemma, I'm definitely going to try out both Mr.Watanabes...and yes, both will have green/white tees with jean shorts =)
Walrus-dog with cloak...kind of like that. But I must admit, part of me wants Paladini to be modeled after Dr.Strange cause you know magic and homoerotic tendencies are already covered there =)
I'm more than slightly offended that he's not going to be a monkey... I'm pretty sure that a monkey dressed up like Dr. Strange would be freaking bad ass!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to do sketching tonight. This weekend will be a bust too...I'm hoping to get some sketch time in soon though, my trigger finger be illin B!
