Yosemite?

Well, I sort of fell asleep on the job and Yosemite sites for late spring went on sale this past Monday, so Upper Pines is full. I did manage to snag a site in Hodgdon Meadows (edge of the park, kind of near Hetch Hetchy) for the nights of Friday May 1 - Sunday May 3 (so the trip would be May 1-4). So how much of the Cup is interested in camping? I'm sure there are still some mountains left for us to explore. Or perhaps more of the Hetch Hetchy area since it would be close by. Anyway, this will sort of be my birthday party for myself, so if you can spare the time, I'd love to spend it with the Cup.Also, let me know if there is interest in a backpacking trip sometime in the summer so I can keep an eye on the trail permit dates. Another option would be to go into Desolation Wilderness from the cabin my parents are buying (cheaper / no pesky reservations, but not Yosemite).

Im very interested in camping in Spring, hopefully I dont have a mid term that friday or something else random to take care of. I do have a question for everyone else though. What about Mexico? I am aware that most of us have random economic issues that have come up recently and I wasnt sure if anyone could even afford to go anymore. I can. Whatever happens is cool but I dont think Id be up for backpacking and Mexico, and even the idea of back packing intimidates me from my last experience, though hopefully in a different head space Id be better prepared for the experience of Half Dome and what not. Whatever happens Im cool.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I'd be up for camping. Crow, you mentioned you weren't sure about backpacking and mexico, perhaps just camping with occasional hiking as a compromise? Besides, I think Cyrusse is treating camping and backpacking as separate.

I'm pretty sure I'd like to come along, and Evelyn would like to join as well.

Evelyn and I would love to do Mexico with the Cup, but yeah, can't say anything until February and by then it'll be fairly late. Keep the details and deadlines on the blog though, that would be helpful.

Just had the following thought, I could probably do camping...not sure about backpacking because of gear. And yes, I'd have to get for two...so I'll have no idea until January or February for that stuff...

grumble, grumble, grumble...

Ya, I figured the camping and backpacking issues as being separate. Let me be more clear. Im in for camping for sure. Its the backpacking Im unclear about. Still undecided at this point.
