Cute furry thing of the day =)

Today's cute furry thing is the hedgehog. Cute prickly thing of the day. Well, whatever, they're cute and there's fur in there with the spines. Despite evidence to the contrary, they are not blue and speedy and can't spindash. Hedgehogs are found virtually all over the world except here in North America, which may prevent me from trying to hug one and getting poked. Unlike porcupines, hedgehog's spines don't easily detach, so their only defense is to curl up into a prickly ball and hope no one wants to go through the trouble of getting prickled in order to eat them.

did they ever live in North America? Did we kill them all? Just curious, I like em! I wouldnt pet one though, just die it blue with that special animal hair dye that isnt toxic to animals.

Well, wikipedia says "no native species" in Australia and "no living native species" in North America, so the distinction makes me think we killed them off somehow. Couldn't find any mention of what said extinct hedgehog species was though.

What about the robo hedgehog? Just because it's not organic doesn't mean it doesn't have feelings...
