This is a message from your emergency broadcast system...

So...you may have noticed things looking a little wonky today here in the cup. I assure you, it's not the shit. I've just been playing with layout options. Seeing as how the vote went out to change the color scheme, I figured it was time to start toying with it. Who would have guessed the right nav bar would get thrown for a loop!

So, no worries, once we've found something that works, we'll fix it all up.

Also, I'm very much considering getting www.in-the-cup.com and installing wordpress software. I've heard AMAZING things about it. Plus! It's open source, which means we could tailor it to OUR liking!

what do you guys think about that? I can look into what it takes to backup our posts and see if there's a way to convert it to wordpress. tell me what you think in the sips!

Um... that was not a vote on the cup color scheme, that was a survey to help me pick colors for my proto-website. I really hate light writing on dark, so I'd be happy if the cup went back to its old colors

i think blogger is ok for now, especially since we don't have to pay for webspace/domains or anything and it works. Granted it's not open source, that I know of...

well..you see, I was planning on getting space w/ go daddy anyways. I could then link the cup domain to an existing, isolated directory within that space. I would then install the blog software...

The open source is nice because it meas more customization, for example, I've always wanted to ability to make a "jump." Luckily, the fact that it's open source also means that A LOT of other people out there will probably have implemented any features we could want.

I would also like to add a file upload section.

Here's what I'll do, I'm getting my webspace, I'm going to play with wordpress, if I make anything that you guys may be interested in, I'll post links...and we'll figure it out then.

DMANIT! someone parked the in-the-cup domain on June 18!!!! I knew I should have reserved it!!!!!

what!? that's so lame! i hope they're actually going to use it and aren't being dicks who buy domains to sell them. =P

defmoose said...

what about "inthecup" without the dashes? did you try that?

Lorigga said...

yeah, tried it...that domain is for sale by the owner...sigh...I could email them and ask how much they want...shit man...
