"Timothy John Russert, Jr. (May 7, 1950 – June 13, 2008)[1] was an American journalist who hosted NBC's Meet the Press. Serving 16½ years as moderator, he was the longest-serving host of the program. He was NBC News' Washington Bureau Chief and also hosted the self-titled CNBC/MSNBC weekend interview program Tim Russert. He was a frequent correspondent and guest on NBC's The Today Show and Hardball. He co-hosted the network's presidential Election Night coverage and presented the polling results of the NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey on the NBC Nightly News. Russert collapsed and died in NBC's Washington studios on Friday June 13, 2008"

Kind of shocking as he was only 58. Sad because I actually remember this guy being the voice of reason sometimes. Granted, that was a long time ago when I used to actually watch news on TV. Anyways, I'm sure he's jut got tougher "work" ahead of him in the astral plane.

Dude this guy was awesome. I had barely just taken notice to him within this last Democratic Primary but apparently hes been reporting on politics for a very long time. Hes known for being fair and honest foso and I think that hes rep was accurate. I generally enjoyed listening to him speak over any of the other people over on MSNBC. He came across as the voice of reason. I agree with your sentiment that he most likely has work at hand for him. Perhaps his ability to stay so true and middle in a world of political biases will end up being useful for him in the next phase.
