To Sensei

To Sensei: Happy Birthday part II

Photobucket

Never one to just agree
Countless times we’ve sparred
Not the one for flattery
Else the truth be marred
This is why I gained respect
I grew up acting hard
She could never be in check
She held all the cards!
This was all before Black Crow
I know now were both stars
Equal casting in this show
Friendship meant to help us grow

Before that truth I still had love
A sister I had found
Selfless as the light above
I saw her golden crown
Your my sensei I decreed!
So I could be the clown
She still knows that I can lead
I’ve seen her start to frown
When I act without my heart
I know I let her down
Always real from the very start
Connected with me like the Bay to the BART

Wow I don't think I've ever gotten a birthday poem before. Actually I'm not sure I've gotten a poem before at all. Thanks a lot! And that's on of my favorite pictures ever since I just slid down that rock on my butt and we're both actually smiling because I'm a fool hehe.

Awesome poem! Just written on the fly or over a while? Grats on giving the first poem/birthday poem! =D

It was written in one morning but considering it took me more than an hour I guess thats not exactly on the fly. Most of my work is written in just under an hour, sometimes 5 minutes, but this piece I worked on for a little bit so I could get the proper tone. I hadnt been working on it for weeks or anything but I did decide I was going to write Syd a poem well before this weekend. Id say this one was past due but it come out of me at the perfect time to make a gift out of it. Ahh I love the Universe.
