What does it all mean? Well, it seems development has gone far enough that people who have been testing the betas have started using it over Firefox 2. I must say, I'm impressed. They've done a lot as far as the interface graphics are concerned there's a much more noticeable difference in terms of how the browser runs! For example. I've got a bazillion tabs open right now, normally, firfox 2 would break by this point. But nope, 3 is trucking along very nicely. From what I've read, they've done a LOT under the hood. So I invite everyone to check it out!
Here's a screenshot I took of my desktop with firefox 3 running.
Here's a page describing how to run the beta release on Ubuntu, this is mainly for you Mac peeps with a POSIX system running underneath. The commands should work the same and you should only worry about backing up your firefox profiles. Then you should just be able to run it. Assuming your download doesn't just let you install the freaking thing with no hassle. Cause you know I had to jump trough a hoop or two to get it going on my linux distribution. LOLs.
And on a completely unrelated note, please, enjoy the latest White Ninja comic!

UPDATE
I've verified that the windows installer is as easy as pie, well, easier. So for any windows fans, check it out. It looks better than the one in my screenshot, what can I say, KDE (my desktop environment) isn't known for it's uber-looks...just it's overall uber-ness.
