I came across this article, which features small snippets of info on 13 of the best electronic versions of D&D.
From a gamers standpoint they all seem cool. But one particular entry caught my eye.
The table top projection setup.
These guys essentially set up a projector on the roof. The DM then uses a laptop to control the map layout. As the players explore the dungeon the map gets exposed and different layers are used to convey spell and item info.
It's just pretty f$cking cool.

i'm down, but we'd need Dan for that as he's the only person I know who has a projector.

suddenly playing D&d in this fashion looks bleak. hehe.
when are we just going to create the virtual environment that we can step into without glasses. and when we do create it, what will we do with it?
well.. I'm going to ride a dragon. Other than that, we'll have to see.

well alright i see your point I guess... then again I usually do make it to places in San Jose...
yeah I'd want to play just so we could do some crazy map thing more than I really want to play though
